For an imminent abolition of the ceiling The Minister of Development, the Minister of Development, spoke today at the margins of food and basic species from the end of June today (14.5.2025) Takis Theodorikakosat the Annual General Assembly of SEVT on the food & beverage industry in Greece and Europe.
More specifically, the ceiling was a legislative provision for inflation, but it was cruel as Mr Theodorikakos described it.
The end of this measure, as the Minister of Development said, should not be unjustified.
Specifically, he noted: “I recognize that there are products that are under pressure on their prices internationally (cocoa, coffee, cattle), but the state should continue with targeted consumer protection controls. The battle to enhance entrepreneurship and protect consumers must be constant. “
It is noted that the food and beverage industry contributes to the economy, covering about 1/7 of Greece’s exports.
In recent months our country has maintained one of the lowest inflation indicators in Europe. This is the result of cooperation, controls, of violations and the pure rules that the Ministry of Development shares with the industry to create a healthy market environment.
