Real Madrid – Panathinaikos 77-87: Impressive victory signed by Sluka and Shorts in Spain

THE Panathinaikos made an imposing pass from Spain and managed to win the Real Madrid with 87-77 to make it 2/2 in this “devil’s week” of the Euroleague.

Kostas Sloukas and TJ Shortz orchestrated Panathinaikos’ attacking play against Real Madrid perfectly, hitting all of Scariolo’s team’s weak spots and that’s what gave Ataman’s team the win. Kenneth Farid also proved against the “Queen” that he came to stay in Europe.

The American center had 16 points with 8 rebounds in the game. Slukas was terrific with 15 points and 7 assists, as was Shorts who had 19 points with 6 assists. Nan remained low with 8 points, but without pulling efforts from the hair, while Osman also returned to the good performances with 13 points.

The Greens had 12 assists without a single mistake in the first half, which is indicative of their image on the floor and the seriousness they presented for almost the entire match, maybe even the entire “devil’s week” of the Euroleague. Panathinaikos finished the match with only 4 mistakes.

The fight

Panathinaikos started impressively in Spain against Real Madrid playing proper basketball with the ball in the hands of Shorts. The American organized well in the attack and had 7 points with 2 assists. Green could have a bigger lead instead of 6 points (22-16).

In the second quarter, Panathinaikos was even better offensively with Sluka taking the baton from Shorts, creating for himself and his teammates, increasing the difference in favor of the greens. Ataman’s team was leading by 14 points at the break (52-38).

Real Madrid looked for the answer in the third period and managed to reduce to 11 points, as Panathinaikos always had a solution in attack.
