Yesterday and yesterday (13.4.2025) on Sunday in terms of our country’s electricity grid, although producers with photovoltaic have complaints.
At the center is the well -known problem with overproduction of photovoltaics at noon in relation to low power demand.
In the end, things were easier yesterday than a week before, as the surplus of energy was much lower. Specifically, from 4 GW on 6/4, it was just 2.5 GW yesterday at noon.
Thus, ADMIE and DEDDIE were easily able to balance the situation, although for the second time, photovoltaic producers were informed to be on alert to stop their operation. The relevant SMS was sent and received, and the producers rushed to implement the directions for the second consecutive Sunday.
Now, everyone’s attention is shifted on Easter Sunday. ADMIE’s preliminary predictions refer to demand up to 4 GW, that is, about 500 MW lower than 13.4.
However, on the part of the authorities it is expressed that there will be no problems, as the measures taken appear to be effective to the desired degree.
Complaints about the new situation
On the contrary, photovoltaic producers express their discomfort with the situation, as time and effort is needed to make the necessary moves they are requested. For his part, Petros Tsikouras’ organizational secretary, Petros Tsikouras, stressed that their parks often are at a long distance from the place of residence and a weekly trip is required.
Producers also blame HEDNO as it essentially transfers the problem to their side.
The PSAF Agricultural Association points out in turn that the way the SMS works is problematic, as messages are taken hours or even days after they are sent. An indication is the case of a member who received on his cellphone the notice of stopping his photovoltaic operation, 87 minutes after the time he posed.
As a result, producers call for the fines not to apply in these cases, as they are not responsible for the failure of their work.
