The incident is described in the book «Power and the Palace» of former Times author Valentine Lowe. The author notes that Camilla herself had narrated her experience for sexual harassment to Boris Johnson in 2008, when he was mayor of London.
The attack allegedly happened when Camilla was 16 or 17 years old, on a train to Pantington Station. According to the book, the man began touching the young Camilla Sant when she pulled her shoe and hit him.
As he allegedly said to Boris Johnson, It was her mother’s advice to use the heel if ever in such a situation.
Arriving in London, Camilla reported the incident to the station’s staff and the man was arrested.
Buckingham has not issued an official announcement on the case, but it does not dispute the details of the narrative.
In recent years, much of Queen Camilla’s public work has focused on supporting victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape.
She is the protector of the Safelives organization and has visited women’s shelters as well as rape victims support centers across the United Kingdom and internationally.
In many of her speeches she has been moving in the courage of those who have experienced abuse, stressing that they should not feel fear or stigma when they seek help.
Characteristically, in her 2020 speech she stated: “Through my work, I spoke with many women who lived under forced control and domestic violence and, fortunately, came out of this hell victims – not victims.”
