One night with a “double”, a draw and … six winners Monday (24.03.12025) for the World Cup qualifiers 2026, with the England and Poland and Bosnia continue their course.
Even though it was late to turn off, England dominated Latvia 3-0 and made it 2/2 in the 11th group for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In his 18th appearance with the “Three Lions”, Reese James scored his first goal with England, sending the ball to the nets of Latvia with a terrible direct foul at 38 ′. In the second half, Thomas Tuchel’s team found a better pace in the attack and scored two more goals in a matter of minutes, with Harry Caine (68 ′) and Ireki (at 76 ′ his first goal with the coat of arms).
In the other match of the night for the same group, Albania had a “party” at home against Andorra, dominating 3-0. Neighbors thus got their first “three -point” in the qualifiers, having Thomas Strakosa of AEK (second defeat for the visitors) under their goalposts.
2/2 in the 8th qualifying group was Bosnia Herzegovina, who defeated Cyprus 2-1 (first scoring for Akis Mantzio’s team). In the other group of the group, Romania passed like … wind from San Marino’s headquarters, with an impressive 5-1.
With the absolute 2 in 2, Poland continued in the 7th group. He won Malta 2-0 at home, with Panathinaikos’ Charles Sfiderski. Earlier, for the same group, Finland stayed 2-2 at Lithuania.
