The recapture of the Russian region Kursk In Western Russia by Russian military forces today (26.04.2025) announced Vladimir Putin.
In particular, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valeri Gerasimov, today referenced to Vladimir Putin about the course of military operations, with reference to Kursk’s recapture.

It is noted that Russia was trying to repel Ukrainian forces from Kursk since last August, after their unexpected invasion that put Putin in a difficult position.
Volodimir Zelenski had explained the objective purposes of the Ukrainian invasion of Kursk in August 2024.
“Thanks to this business we have managed to reduce pressure on other parts of the front, especially in the Donetsk area. It is absolutely crucial to continue to destroy the Russian equipment and administrative care and logistics used by the conquerors, “the Ukrainian president had said.
