Program 24 million euros for “home accessibility” – Beneficiaries of 2,500 people with disabilities, with resources of the recovery fund

The program Subsidy Accessibility interventions for people with Disability It enhances independent living and equal participation in social and professional life, emphasizing the real needs of people with motor and/or sensory disabilities. Beneficiaries are people with a disability rate of over 67%who reside in Greece and have an individual income of up to 60,000 euros.

The highest grant amount is up to € 14,500, € 12,000 for motor disability, € 5,000 for sensory disability, € 14,500 for a combination of kinetic and sensory disability.

Eligible interventions are the main residence, regardless of ownership status (including leased houses with the owner’s consent), the privately owned secondary home, the professional roof of self -employed and the public spaces of apartment buildings. Interventions include technical configuration work, ramps and lips installation, automation and special equipment installation, as well as the remuneration of engineer to certify the completion of the tasks.

Each beneficiary will be able to use the money that will be allocated in combination with all 3 spaces for bathroom design, ramps and lips, installation of automation and special equipment, as well as the remuneration of a technical consultant who certifies the completion of the work.

The process will be implemented through a digital platform, in which interested parties will apply for participation, accompanied by the necessary supporting documents. The relevant call for expressions of interest will be published in the immediate future.

The program for “home accessibility” and with 2,500 people with disabilities, totaling a total public expenditure of € 24 million, is part of the National Plan “Greece 2.0” and is funded by the recovery and durability fund and implemented by the Hellenic Society of Local Development and SA.

The Joint Ministerial Decision is signed by the Ministers of Labor and Social Security Niki Kerameos, Social Cohesion and Family Domna Michailidou, Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance and Finance Papathanasis and Nikos Papathanassis.
