From the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Organized Crime Directorate two men, members of a transnational criminal group, who they tried to import a quantity of raw hydroponic cannabis (SKUNK) in the Greek territory, through Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos”.
In particular, in the context of targeted controls for preventing the importation of narcotics into Greecefollowing the utilization of information by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the US Embassy. in Athens, as well as through verifications, cross-checking, analysis of data and creation of “profiles” of individuals (profiling), the criminal activity of the above was certified.
In more detail, the defendants, arriving by air from a foreign country, were located in the arrivals area of the airport where they were caught in possession of inside their luggage -84- nylon packages which contained raw hydroponically cultivated hemp (SKUNK) with a total weight of -44- kilograms for the purpose of further trafficking.
In searches carried out, a total of the following were found and seized:
- raw hydroponic hemp (SKUNK) with a total weight of -44- kilos,
- the amount of -210- euros,
- -2- mobile phones and -2- suitcases.
Those arrested are taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
