The vote for the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport was completed in Parliament
A majority was voted on after the secret ballot was voted on by the proposal of the Council of the Preligible Committee for the prosecution to investigate the judicial council the possible commitment of the “infringement of duty (259 CC)” by the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation. The secret ballot was abstained all the opposition parties, except for the Freedom Cruise which participated in the vote.
There were several of the 25 independent MPs abstained, including MPs involved in the Democracy Movement.
Following the announcement of the outcome of the vote, the President of the Vice President of the House Athanasios Bouras announced that the President of the House Nikita Kaklamanis will initiate procedures provided for by the Constitution, the CSB and the Law on the Responsibility of the Ministers. That is to say, a letter will be sent to the Ministry of Justice in order to send the list of members of the Supreme Court and the CoE who have the legal qualifications in order for a forthcoming plenary session to draw up the five regular and three alternate members of the Judicial Council as well as the Judicial Council.
