THE Fotis Ioannidis is the face of the days in recent days in Portugal, with the Greek striker having found himself in Sporting Lisbon.
Coming off the bench (59′ instead of Simoes), Fotis Ioannidis unlocked Sporting Lisbon, scoring (68′) and paving the way for the victory (2-0) over Alquerca at “Joao Albalade” in the first game of the 10th matchday of the Primeira Liga.
“They are both in very good shape. They always perform, playing one at a time or together. We are much stronger in that regard and it is a big headache for me, I have no doubt about it. I’m happy because they’re two very competitive players, who don’t budge an inch, and happy to have them both.
So they have to continue to perform well and score goals, that’s what we and the fans expect,” Sporting Lisbon coach Rui Borges said when asked about Fotis Ioannidis and Luis Suarez.
“Fotis gives us more attacking depth, Luis provides support and aggression. They are two great strikers that we have and will leave their mark at Sporting Lisbon,” he added.
