To date, PPC Renewables have dismantled 105 old wind turbines in 10 Aegean and Crete islands, replacing them with 24 new, of the same total installed power but much more effective and technologically advanced. An indicative example is that of Psara, where nine old wind turbines were replaced by two new, with optimized production, consistently supporting the electricity needs of the island.
As stated in a related announcement, all the materials resulting from the dismantling of wind turbines, such as pillars, cables, tables and transformers were fully recycled while some materials find “new” life through creative applications. For example, wind turbine fins have been used as benches in the Christmas village in the Municipality of Trikala or turned into meeting tables decorating corporate offices.
In addition, the bases of the wind turbines were separated into concrete and weapons and the materials were removed, managed and recycled properly. The old positions of the squares occupied by the wind turbines returned to their original state, as the stitches were filled with material of the surrounding area, restoring the landscape to its former form.

It is recalled that PPC renewables is the first company in Greece to began the construction of wind farms in the early 1980s with the first in Europe hybrid RES in Kythnos, which combined wind and solar energy.
