PPC: adds 88 MW photovoltaic park to Bulgaria’s portfolio

Completed to the vision of further enhancing its leading role in the energy transition taking place in Southeast Europe, the Group PPC Strengthens its green portfolio with the agreement to receive by completing and launching it under construction photovoltaic park A total of 88 MW in the village of Vedrare in the area of Karlovo, Central Bulgaria.

The project is already manufactured by the company, Chint Green Energy, a subsidiary of the Chint Group, which belongs to Astronergy, one of the largest photovoltaic frameworks in the world. The Park will be delivered to the PPC Group after the completion of the construction and the launch of operation, in the first quarter of 2026.

The project is ideally located in an area with high rates of sunshine, near one of Bulgaria’s main cargo centers (Plovdiv) with easy access and good existing infrastructure, and is only 150 kilometers from the capital, Sofia.

To build the photovoltaic park, Astronergy will be used 18.5 thousand double -sided panels, 264 Elementary inverters and 12 HT/MT production substations. The photovoltaic frame support system consists of single axis trackers, which are actively orientated by the frames and built-in back-tracking algorithms to increase the station’s productivity.

The estimated annual energy production of the project is expected to reach 140 GWH, a quantity capable of meeting the energy needs of more than 23,500 households, while the operation of the project is expected to prevent about 70,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Bulgaria with yet another important project that contributes to the vision of the Group for a sustainable transition to green energy not only in Greece but also throughout Southeast Europe. “

Two months ago, the PPC Group started constructing the 165 MWP photovoltaic station in the Stara Zagora area in Central Bulgaria, as well as an energy storage station, 25 MW and 55 MWH installed capacity near the photovoltaic park. At the same time, the PPC Group is already operating in northern Bulgaria wind farm 18mw.

The PPC Group today has a total portfolio of RES projects of 6.2 GW in Greece, Romania, Italy and Bulgaria. The aim of the PPC Group’s investment plan is to have a RES installed to reach 11.8 GW by 2027.
