In a deep rearrangement phase the country’s political scene has enteredwith social discontent eroding support for the government, the traditional opposition parties regressing in introversion and protest parties – to the right and left of the political spectrum – reinforced, recording increased appeal.
Although the ruling party is still maintaining a lead, damage is now evident in critical acceptance indicators. Decline confidence in everyday issues, constant protests about the cost of living and fatigue from repeated crises have shaped a pressure condition, not only in the field of numbers but also in public discourse. Expectations for reforms have shrunk and the stability narrative does not move as before.
At the same time, the two largest opposition parties – PASOK and SYRIZA – not only do not harm the deterioration of the government, but are sinking into internal contradictions, strategic confusion and lack of leadership orientation. PASOK seems trapped between the need for renewal and the return of familiar mechanisms. Public controversy among top executives, disciplinary references and embarrassment on key policy issues show a party without a pure compass.
On the other hand, SYRIZA, despite trying to reboot with a new leader, seems to remain in a state of political decommissioning. The intra -party tension has not receded, the party’s figure has not been re -re -regulated and its relationship with the wider progressive space seems more competitive than synthetic.
The political vacuum created, albeit temporarily, are exploiting parties that target the “system” and appear as anti -systemic forces. Movements like Freedom Cruise record remarkable risenot only as expressors of protest, but also as an alternative voice towards the dominant political narrative. Political formations on the right of the ND, such as the Greek solution, which maintain steady foundations in specific audiences, utilizing themes such as security, national identity and opposition to “elites” and institutions, are similar.
At the same time, new political structures emerge – either from persons with previous political experience or from emerging movements – that manage to record remarkable acceptance, at least at the level of intent. The phenomenon suggests a widespread need for citizens for representation that transcends traditional shapes.
The image of a political scene in turmoil concludes with the recording of an important portion of citizens who are frustrated, indecisive or reluctant to participate in the electoral process. The message is clear: an important part of society is either not represented by the existing political staff or awaits a new narrative that more directly touches on the reality it is experiencing.
The country seems to be entering a new phase of liquidity policy, with all the possibilities open. Whether this phase will give birth to new shapes, bring new consensus or lead to polarization and disintegration, remains to be seen. At present, wear is pervasive and the renewal is delayed.
