The measure of border controls is “necessary to limit them, to reduce these uncontrolled flow -controlled flows”, the “immigrants”, the Polish prime minister told reporters.
The announcement was made at a meeting of the Council of Ministers and follows the recent reinforcement of border controls by Germany, which was imposed after taking over the new German government under the leader of Christian Democrats Friedrich Mertz.
In the context of this policy, German border officials have taken the directive to deny entry into irregular migrants -even those seeking asylum -, a measure that criticized Poland.
The German government plans to insist on this practice, even after a court ruling that banned the rejection of asylum seekers at the border.
