Plevris, Katrini, Karameros and Achsioglou in Delphi – partnerships, consensus and government balances

The difficulties and challenges of party consensus, as well as the visible possibility of a co -operation government in the next elections were put to the center of the Greek Parliament parties in the debate that took place in its context. 10th Delphi Economic Forum conducted in Delphi in 9- April 12 co -ordinated by Alpha TV journalist, Laura John.

In a journalist’s commentary on the New Democracy polls lately, the first time was raised by the speech. Thanos PlevrisMember of the First Athens and Parliamentary Spokesman for the New Democracy. Mr Plevris pointed out that there can be no consensus and compulsory. He estimated that the elections would take place at the end of ND’s rule. For him, then, it will be the time to capture the percentages of each party. Continuing, he said that the rules are meaningful when relying on a common program and in this case, PASOK is closer to the left. He added that the New Democracy has a hard core of people following it in difficult times and that the party will run in the next elections aimed at self -reliance.

For him Michael KatriniIlia MP, head of National Defense, PASOK-KINAL, recent polls reflect three evidence: that people want political change, seeking early elections and another government from today. As Mr Katrinis said, PASOK clearly states that it is not going into governance with the New Democracy and has adopted the logic of the autonomous course. “We exclude cooperation with the government, as we have radical differences over the policy it is implementing. There is no process of pre -election partnerships, consensus wants programmatic convergence and reliable persons, “he said.

On his part, the George CaramerMP and spokesman for SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, pointed out that his party “proved in 2015-2019 that it could rule stability, in collaboration with the Independent Greeks, and this was a bet he achieved”.

According to a spokesman for SYRIZA, moreover, the gathering of progressive forces is the solution for the next day and a progressive government of cooperation can answer the purchasing power and the cartels, but also to the weakening of democracy.

For the difference of Europe, where there is already consolidated culture of political cooperation compared to Greece, the suggestion was mentioned in its presentation. Efi AchcioglouMP of the New Left, Minister of Labor, Social Security and Social Solidarity (2016 – 2019).

According to her, there has been political liquidation in recent years and is a process that concerns the whole of Europe, where a culture of partnerships has been formed, as opposed to Greece. At this point he added that the issue of partnerships is needed, although he said there are difficulties in relation to the Constitution and programmatic convergences before and after the election and a time issue is raised.

He added that even if the cooperation has a proper basis and is based on dialogue, he needed a culture of consolidation, while talking about three possible collaborations scenarios: Right with the far -right, PASOK with ND and a popular political front, but also part of the day25.
