Reply to Alexis Haritsis
A lawsuit against the media that hosted a series of publications involving personal attacks on him – with the rise of digital works on his term of office to the Ministry of Digital Government – filed today by the Ministry of Digital Government. Kyriakos Pierrakakisto the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The Minister of Economy and Finance also heralded from the plenary that he would also file a lawsuit against these media, the money from which they would be offered to the Relief Fund.
Because – as Mr Pierrakakis said – “there must always be very harsh criticism of the government, which is beneficial, but one should not violate some rules, in the context of an exchange of arguments that brutally affect democratic system.”
The Minister of Finance, responding to the President of the New Left, Alexis Haritsis, who preceded the step, and re -raised the issue of the assignment of IT projects by the Recovery Fund and the audits for them, reiterated the information he had submitted to Parliament. He also observed that this question came almost simultaneously with the publications of “far -right media” (as he described them) and who personally attacked him.
According to these figures, the Information Society announced 203 projects, in 2/3 of which were over one offer, in 1/3 the offer was one, but in half of them, they were from a consortium (so more than one companies went down) and (in contrast to the 20 -year -olds). Pierrakakis, he added, that 26 checks were carried out by the recovery fund and a number of other checks (which makes a specific control system in all these projects), stressing that there was a multiple grid of national and European controls. He also said that there was a check by the Competition Committee on a project requested by the ministry itself, through a letter from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Development, Mr. Anagnostopoulos.
“The only control process we know is. No other, neither national nor European. If there was another we would know because there is all this correspondence, “Mr Pierrakakis said to Mr. Haritsis and added:” It is another thing to report anything and another thing is to have a research process. The only research is that of the Competition Committee we know and comes after a document we sent. This is the data and my answer is extremely complete. “
Finally, on this issue, the Minister addressed the question to the President of the New Left, because he as a Minister of Development with the power of the NSRF – under the SYRIZA government – did not denounce the Competition Committee and did not wonder why the 13 IT projects were then assigned?
Concerning the issue of VAT, raised by Mr Haritsis, the Minister of Economy and Finance replied that the tax policy in the context of the European directive is a possibility and not an obligation and the ND government is making decisions based on the budgetary space, which it has in its hands. “We prioritize the prioritization that is being made is to satisfy as many of our fellow citizens as we can in the context of our real fiscal space. We have no less, no more without the country getting into a problem. And we are the government, which has been elected by a clear mandate. What happened in 2015 will never happen again. Let us not pass the account to the next, ”he concluded in his answer.
