At least two people lost their lives by the powerful earthquake of 7.4 on the Richter scale that hit the early morning time of Greece Philippines.
The earthquake brought moments of panic to the Philippines, While initially a tsunami warning was issued, which later came.
The earthquake occurred about 20 kilometers off the coast of Manai on the southern island of Mindanao at 9:43 am Local time, according to the US Geological Survey Service (USGS).
In the city of Mati, a person was killed by a wall collapse, according to police, while a man suffered a opposition, the city’s disaster management office told AFP.
The Philippine Volcanical and Seismology Institute had warned that a “devastating tsunami” was expected “with waves of height that are likely to endanger lives” on the east coast of the archipelago. The inhabitants along the affected coasts were called upon to evacuate their areas preventively.
