The civil defense service had previously confirmed the deaths of at least 17 other victims in the rest of the country, bringing the total death toll at this stage to 93.
However, there are fears that the death toll could exceed 100 as rescuers gradually reach the affected areas.

Almost 400,000 people have been displaced due to the strong typhoon which today caused major floods in extensive areas in the center of the country.
The deaths were due to drowning and falling debris, the official said.
