Pavlos Marinakis: The opposition essentially demands that we do not pay our loan obligations “and the country go bankrupt”

The government spokesman Paul Marinakis In an interview with ERTnews and referring to the measures announced by the government and opposition criticism, he stressed that “if we do not accept that it is fooling the world”, he essentially demands that we do not pay our loan obligations “and to bankrupt the country”.

Mr Marinakis described the criticism of SYRIZA, characteristically saying that “SYRIZA is intertwined with bankruptcy, it is the party that went to bankrupt the country” as “it reached the brink of the cliff”. And he added: “Citizens have understood it and have gone from 30% to 22%, 17%, 5% now.”

Specifically for the mortgage, Pavlos Marinakis pointed out that the government has announced measures exceeding 6 billion euros, including over 60 actions including tax exemptions and programs for new buildings.

“I say it again, they are not enough. Obviously they are not enough. So we announced the extra rent. So in the next TIF we will look at the mortgage again, “he added.

The government spokesman also referred to the “significant results” of government policy in the fight against organized crime. He said the Greek Police have solved many criminal organizations and noted that political “law and order” is a priority of the government.

“There is no government anywhere in the world that can press a button and eliminate crime. Anyone who makes this, fools the world. Unfortunately we have many in Greece, throughout the spectrum of the political system. We do not belong to this category. I will tell you, that as long as people want to be in things, as the citizens choose me, that is, politicians, but mainly the party I belong to and the prime minister with whom I have the honor of being on his side, the doctrine of “law and order”, which is not a doctrine, is a political prerequisite for us, is a political prerequisite for us.

Mr Marinakis also spoke about the need for precautionary measures in view of the firefighting period and, referring to the cleaning of the plots, asked the citizens to comply with the notice that a brave extension was given.

He also referred to the new electoral law that is under discussion on municipal elections in order to elect mayors and regional governors from the first round.

“Mr. Lebanese, fully respecting the people of the local government, started the dialogue from KEDE and raised the issue first to the self -governing. I think it is a very right bill, which puts a class and gives essentially even greater power to the citizens, “he noted.
