Pavlos Geroulanos sees “fertile ground” in abstinence

PASOK’s parliamentary representative, Pavlos Geroulanos, estimated that in recent months there has been a big change in citizens’ expectations. Speaking on Sky TV, he noted that a large part of the electorate, which is “at home” and showed tolerance towards the prime minister, is now waiting for a political change. He estimated that PASOK, with its conference, can bring them to the ballot box and convince them to vote for it.

“Our job is to mobilize this people, who are not going anywhere, to come to PASOK”, noted Pavlos Geroulanos. “So the ground is very fertile there for PASOK to exercise the right opposition and present his program”, he added.

Responding to a related question, whether those abstaining will turn to Alexis Tsipras, the PASOK MP said that the perspective of a party, “which is other than the presence of a party”leads to a gathering of forces, something different from attracting new voters.

Commenting on the confrontations of PASOK executives, he underlined that “serious political discussion that synthesizes opinions is what gives our space strength.”
