The 4 suspicious cases abuse children The Patras Forensic Service had taken care of the Patras Public Prosecutor to clarify whether the findings were correctly issued and there were no criminal omissions.
The cases are reviewed after the deposits of doctors, including intensive Andreas Eliades and pediatric surgeon Vassilis Alexopoulos. The Department of Internal Affairs is now investigating all the complaints of abuse of children who have even entered the files even the cases potential murder whose causes of death were attributed to pathological causes with relevant opinions of Forensic service of Patras.
The intervention of the Department of the Internal Affairs took place after the urgent preliminary examination ordered by the Supreme Court’s deputy prosecutor, Nikos Nikolaou, for the revelations that at least in 4 cases of abuse of minors reported by Patras doctors, local forensic exams were closed.
The shocking affairs
The 4 -year -old with signs of hanging abuse
The first case he “opened” concerns a 4 -year -old child who was found with signs of abuse on his anus.
The 4 -year -old’s relatives were found in the “frame” of the suspects.
The forensic report, however, said that the child used the hanging on his own.
The boy’s disabled boy
Officers are also investigating a case of a boy of people with disabilities found with signs of abuse during his hospitalization.
In this case, a second forensic was also made, which also does not talk about abuse.
Although doctors insisted on the suspicious signs, the two forensic reports did not find anything alarming, so the case is being considered again.
So far, in the context of the prosecution, doctors Andreas Eliades and Vassilis Alexopoulos and POEDIN President Michalis Giannakos have submitted.
The death of the infant from Ioannina
The third case concerns the tragic death of an 2.5 -month -old infant, which was admitted to a hospital in Patras in poor condition about 11 years ago. Having signs of abuse, the infant entered the ICU directly. The doctors, led by Andreas Eliades, did all the necessary examinations and found that the infant had been abused by persons in his environment and probably from his father himself.
It is noteworthy that the imaging tests showed that the infant had the “symptom of shame” and had very serious craniocerebral injuries. The exams found that it had cracks on the sides, which were recent and older.
Despite the dramatic efforts of doctors, the infant eventually ended up.
Andreas Eliades, as he should have, denounced everything to the police and the prosecutor’s office, even quoting the entire medical dossier of the unfortunate infant. A criminal preliminary examination followed, which ended up in Father’s referral of infant in trial.
The defendant, however, was acquitted because of a forensic report signed by the Patriarchate of Patras Andreas Gotsis (now on holiday) in which he said he said he said he said. The infant did not die of abuse but from meningoencephalitis.
The file is now being reviewed by the Directorate -General for the Forensic Service.
Corfu case
The 4th case is the one with the 13 -year -old girl from Corfu. His mother told him that he eventually did not commit suicide (as they said) but the child had been sexually abused. The complaint states that forensic doctor Andreas Gotsis did not find traces of abuse.
The child was hospitalized from June to August and in September returned to Corfu. He died in October. Gotsi argues how abuse happened in September – October and when it came from Corfu in Patras.
