PASOK: Developments with OPEKEPE bring the request for elections at the table of Har. Trikoupi

It may not be shouting, but under the lines PASOK is demanding the resignation of the government and calling for elections after the stormy developments linked to its scandal. OPECEPE and they have already led to resignations of four members of the Council of Ministers.

In Harilaou Trikoupi they believe that the Mitsotakis government is now legitimized, but they are very careful in their formalities, stressing that it should be ensured that there should be no limitation on the ministers involved and for offenses held before the 2023 elections. This is something that has made the PASOK leadership clear to the government in time, noting that it does not close the plenary session of the House of Representatives, causing the limitation of possible offenses.

Harilaou Trikoupi circles point out that PASOK will not allow the OPEKEPE scandal to be put on the shelf, as there is such a risk, which is explicitly mentioned by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, since it was not explicitly investigated by October.

At the same time, however, they say that the Mitsotakis government, a government that produces corruption, a government with three different voices in its foreign policy and ministers’ mutualization that has their eyes on the next day for the leadership “does not stand”.

It is practically a matter of time for PASOK to submit a proposal to set up a pre -trial committee that will concern at least the former Ministers of Rural Development Maki Voridis and Lefteris Avgenakis while in the coming days he will decide how to move for the Deputy Ministers whose names are in the case.

The removal of Minister Maki Voridis and Deputy Minister Tasos Hatzivasiliou, Dionysis Stamenitis and Christos Boukouros from the government in the opposition’s opinion, is burdened by the political position of the Mitsotakis government and raises questions about whether a government is raised. Indeed, PASOK views Kyriakos Mitsotakis as the person who has the absolute political responsibility for the birth of scandals.

Commenting on the new political data, the PASOK spokesman was asked if the government could now stand by implying that Kyriakos Mitsotakis has to move in this direction.

Indeed, Kostas Tsoukalas is indirectly but clearly shows the way of resigning for the Prime Minister himself who, according to PASOK, bears absolute political responsibility. “A government that until yesterday was trying to disorient public opinion with unimaginable set -offs and the day after the announcement of the case file leads to a resignation of a minister and three deputy ministers cannot stand. A prime minister of a spectator whose government is collapsing.

With this statement but also with the question of how much Mr Mitsotakis will be hidden by PASOK irresponsible, he is trying to substantially attempt to put Mr Mitsotakis in charge of his responsibilities and to demonstrate that the country has a crisis of power. Anyway early Friday morning, PASOK had requested the resignation of Maki Voridis, considering the original study of the case file that evidence of criminal liability of ministers who need further investigation.

PASOK MPs and legal team studying the case file of more than 3,000 pages estimate that a first overview show data that need further investigation. They clarify that the audit being done is extensive and that it is done seriously on the spirit developed by the European Prosecutor.

The criminal investigation of Messrs. Voridis and Avgenakis were indirectly announced by Mr. Tsoukalas referring to two typical examples. As he explained, there are two deposits of Mr. Varra and Simandarakou, former OPECEPE presidents who, according to himself, who reads them can understand that they are sufficient to establish the need to investigate further criminal responsibilities. There is Mr Varras, who says he was asked to resign from the then Minister, Mr Voridis and to the question of the reasons he was asked to do so, he estimates that he was taking care of OPEKEPE’s interests and giving orders to strengthen his controls, annoying a system. Correspondingly, Mr Simandarakos said that during his term of office, six thousand VAT were pledged, but the pressure was unbearable by Mr Avgenakis and an environment to release them.

There are also dialogues of people who were not ministers at the time, but allegedly seeking interested exceptions by law.

According to circles by Harilaou Trikoupi, all the lines of defense of Maximus were clicking. The first line was that “there are no powerful evidence but epidermal reports to the ministers” but the case file resulted in incriminating evidence. Immediately afterwards, the second line of defense fell that “MPs from all parties are making rushes, so they are all unreliable” something that also did not come out, because their MPs and current deputy ministers did not ask for rusks, but irregular actions. Therefore, the resignation of the “4” was a one -way street for the Mitsotakis government.
