A full-length tour of about ninety minutes was made by PASOK-KINAL President, Nikos Androulakisat the premises of the 89th Thessaloniki International Exhibition, with MPs and party executives.
“The Balkans are on a development trajectory and Thessaloniki has to serve its historical role, to be the Balkan Economic Center,” he said after his meetings with TIF-Helexpo administration and representatives of employees in the company.
“To do this, important projects are needed, such as the extension of the subway to both directions, such as the redevelopment of the TIF, with a large metropolitan park with a lot of green that will make the life of the city’s permanent residents. TIF-HELEXPO President Tasos Tzikas briefed Mr Androulakis on the features of the 89th International Exhibition and the issue of the redevelopment of the TIF site.
Mr. Androulakis said that PASOK’s position did not change and from the beginning it was in favor of the mild regeneration of the TIF space, in favor of mild structures with very green. He also advocated the participation of the participation of representatives of the city in the TIF-Helexpo administration.
Then Mr. Androulakis started touring the kiosks of the 89th TIF, accompanied by MPs and party officials.
At the heart of his interest were the areas of innovation and higher education, as he visited the “Akademia” booth, where he had the opportunity to talk to the Rectors of the Aristotle University, the University of Macedonia and the University of Macedonia. His meeting on the latter’s booth was particularly special, as Mr. Androulakis is a graduate of the institution and met with persons from his student years.

At the same time, the PASOK President emphasized the country’s productive and economic fabric, with targeted visits to the kiosks of the Hellenic Association of Industries (SEBE), the Central Union of Chambers, the GSEE Institute of Labor and the DBA.
His tour also included a stop at the booth of the Ministry of National Defense, as well as the TIF’s 100th anniversary report, where he toured the rich history of the institution. During his walk, he welcomed representatives of organizations such as “Doctors of the World” and the “Greek Rescue Team” and talked to citizens approaching him.
