Parliament – Tragedy in Tempi: Referral Karamanlis to Justice for breach of duty

The Hellenic Parliament has decided to prosecute the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Costa Ah. Karamanlisfor the complained act of infringement. The decision was made by a wide majority, marking a significant development in the case that concerns public life.

Overall, they voted 164 Members. Of them, 163 votes were judged valid and 1 invalid. For the act of breach of duty, 157 Members voted “yes”supporting the prosecution exercise, while 6 MPs voted “NO”.

Following this outcome, Mr. Karamanlis is referred to justice to be held accountable for the charge of breach of duty. This development paves the way for investigating the case by the competent judicial authorities.

This critical process was conducted while several opposition parties had left the room.

Specifically, the KKE, the Greek solution, PASOK, NIKI and the New Left have chosen not to participate in the vote, thus expressing their disagreement with the procedure followed.
