The Ministry
The Minister of National Defense announced a series of modifications to ensure the terms of transparency Nikos Dendiaswith the start, in the plenary of the House, the debate on the bill “Utilizing real estate Armed forces – Establishment of a National Defense Fund and the Armed Forces Property Property Body – Plan of actions to manage the housing needs of the Armed Forces executives. “
With these amendments, for which the Minister said they adopt proposals submitted to the process of processing the bill to the National Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, inter alia:
- An explicit reference is added, according to which the TEA (National Defense Fund) and the FAED (ED real estate utilization body) serve the public interest.
- It is explicitly stipulated that the mission of the TATHEM is to improve the living conditions of the ED executives.
- TATHEA will be able to assign studies to individuals if it is necessary and this need cannot be fulfilled by the executives.
- The three Chiefs of Staff will participate in the TEETHA steering committee.
- The term of office of the Director of TATHEA will only be renewed once.
- It is deleted the initial prediction that the TEA will set up four positions of lawyers and this task will be undertaken by officers of the Legal Corps.
- It is made clear that the FAED does not acquire any right to the TEHTA real estate and now stipulates that the purpose of the FAED is to utilize the criticized non -operational real estate of TATHEA’s property, provided that they are assigned by the TEHTH.
- It is made clear that the PAED’s responsibilities include maturing and only if there is no other possibility of utilizing and divesting non -operational for the armed forces of immovable property of the bodies supervised by the Ministry of National Defense and Property.
- The President of the FAED is selected by the Minister of National Defense on his call for hearing and opinion of the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs of the House.
- The term of office of the FAED president will be three plus three years.
- The Rules of Procedure of the FAED will be published in the Government Gazette.
- The FAED’s annual report will also be submitted to the relevant House Committee.
- The Strategic Property Utilization Plan shall be submitted to the relevant House Committee and only if the confidentiality is required to be submitted to the Committee of Equipment Programs.
