Late Tuesday night with amendment filed by the Ministers of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Justice George Floridis Article 8 of Law 3213/2003 is amended.
This article relates to the restrictions of debtors in a statement of property of politicians and their surrogate persons in terms of participation in companies based abroad.
What does the arrangement
With the amendment which deposited the horizontal prohibition of persons’ participation Paragraph 1 of article 8 of Law 3213/2003 (A ‘309) (Prime Minister, Heads of Political Parties represented by a National European Parliament as well as those receiving state funding, ministers, deputy ministers, deputy ministers, deputies and MEPs, those who manage their financial ministers, Government, Regional Governors and Mayors) to foreign -based companies.
Regarding the spouses, In dimensional spouses, persons who have entered into a cohabitation agreement, first -degree relatives, as well as any other natural or legal person who could be considered to, for any reason, on behalf of or at the suggestion of or at the ordeal of the above persons referred to in paragraph 1, the above significant reduction in financial freedom, as guaranteed by Constitution and Union law, is required.
This is also necessary, also noted, because the above persons who are simply associated with politicians have not chosen such a political activity itself; it is therefore more proportional to be forbidden to participate Not in any overseas -based company, but only to those companies that have a real or statutory seat in a state non -cooperative in the tax sector or in a state, which has a privileged tax regime within the meaning of Article 65 of the Income Tax Code (Law 4172/2013, A ‘167), and that of the Ministerial Decisions, which are issued by the ministerial decisions.
As highlighted In the report the purpose of the specific setup in particular It is to rationalize participation in companies with relatives and other persons associated with politicians.
Changes to EKAB as well
Through the same amendment is increasing, per person, by 20 (from 200 to 220) the ceiling of hours afternoon overtime per semester for EKAB’s ambulance crews.
