Signed by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanassis The integration of the act entitled ‘Automotion of Power with photovoltaic 1 Voju Energy Community Systems and 2 Voju Energy Community “, in the” Fair Development Transition 2021-2027 “program. The total public spending amounts to EUR 6,363,737.60, while the total budget of the project is EUR 7,954,672.00, with the remaining amount covered by private participation.
The project signed by Deputy Minister Nikos Papathanassis concerns the installation of photovoltaic stations of 8,920 kWp in land parcels of the Municipality of Voi Kozani. The energy generated by photovoltaics will be available exclusively for the operation of infrastructure that is not used for economic activities, ensuring that the benefits of the act will be directly transferred to citizens without financial consideration.
In this context, the annual energy production will be used exclusively to meet the needs of municipal and public infrastructure in the Municipalities of Vojo and Serbia, as well as DEYA Voiou. Specifically, in addition to municipal lighting, energy needs in public education structures, social welfare buildings, sports facilities, spiritual centers, museums, libraries and event halls will be met.
In this way, it is expected to accelerate the green transition of the region, the broader strengthening of the local community and the improvement of the quality of life and daily lives of citizens, who will benefit from reducing energy costs and energy autonomy.
The act is part of the “Energy Transition-Climate Neutrality” priority of the “Fair Development Transition 2021-2027” program and is a key intervention to utilize renewable energy sources in Western Macedonia
