Papathanassis: Interventions and investments at the center of his TIF speech

Interventions and investments were at the heart of the placement of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanassis at the event on “Development and Value of Investment”, in the context of parallel actions of 89 TIF.

Nikos Papathanassis referred to all the actions funded by national and European resources, emphasizing projects ongoing in Central Macedonia, in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the TIF in Thessaloniki.

“The result of the economic policy of Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ governments is what led to the implementation of all the projects that have been done, those in progress and all that are announced and will follow. Development economic policy with fiscal consistency and social sign is the one that leads to the implementation of projects without any problems in funding. We do not implement the projects by transferring debt to future generations, but through development. The result is not the case through taxation of citizens, as tens of taxes have been reduced. The result comes thanks to growth and the right fiscal policy, as all our partners recognize, “Nikos Papathanassis said.

“In 2019, when ND and Kyriakos Mitsotakis took over the country’s governance, the Public Investment Program was 5.4bn. euro. This year, it has 14.6 billion euros, that is, it is increased by 170%. And in 2026 it will have a total budget of 16 billion euros, that is, it will be up to 212%, “said Nikos Papathanassis.

The deputy minister particularly referred to policies concerning Central Macedonia, where 2.7 billion euros have already been directed, coming from all the financial tools provided by Greece. Only from the NSRF 2021-2027, Central Macedonia received € 1.4 billion, ie 60.8% more resources than the previous NSRF, thanks to the negotiation made by the Prime Minister in the EU, a negotiation that led, among other things, to the start of the just 1.6-year-old program. Euro, noted by Nikos Papathanassis.

At the same time, through the NSRF and especially from the Central Macedonia Regional Program, 602 Public Budget projects are in full swing of € 1.3 billion.

The extroversion program of small and medium-sized enterprises is also in full swing, which is also funded by the NSRF, of EUR 200 million, as well as the Interreg 2021-2027 program, with a budget of € 10 million.

Recovery fund funding more than 199 projects of 600m euros are funded in the region of Central Macedonia, projects related to health, infrastructure, culture, daily life. At the same time, the TAA is reinforced by 68,000 small and medium -sized enterprises.

Whereas, by the Hellenic Development Bank, the support arm of small and medium -sized entrepreneurship and the expansion of their access to banking institutions, and within the framework of TEPIX III, only 258.5m euros have been given to the Thessaloniki Regional Unit.

At the same time, the program “My House II” is underway, in which the beneficiaries in the Thessaloniki Regional Unit already amount to 1427, with a total budget of € 173 million, while 2265 euros worth of € 261,87555555555555555555555555 has already been given.

The role of works through PPPs, which relate to the daily lives of citizens, is also important. Typical examples are the Judicial Gentiles, the School Units and of course the Theagenio Anti -Cancer Hospital of Thessaloniki, a hospital that will be a model not only for northern Greece but for the whole Balkans.

“Words are leaving, projects are left, projects need resources, resources need a strong economy. This is the logic that governs the economic policy of Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ governments, this is the direction in which we will continue with prudence and determination, “Mr Nikos Papathanassis concluded.
