Government’s commitment to continuous reinforcement of Greek economic The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance reiterated, Nikos Papathanassisduring his intervention at the 5th Thessaloniki Metropolitan Summit organized by the Economist in Thessaloniki.
Specifically, Nikos Papathanassis stressed that the strong economy, the attraction of investment, the support of entrepreneurship and the constant reforms implemented by the governments of Kyriakos Mitsotakis are key pillars for the constant development of the country.
In his position, Nikos Papathanassis highlighted the results of the economic policy pursued with a social sign and budgetary targeting, as well as the government’s priorities with an emphasis on accelerating reforms and improving the daily lives of citizens.
Greece is still growing much faster than the rest of Europe. In 2019, investments were in 11% of GDP, while today they are 15.3%. Unemployment was to 17.8% and today has fallen below 8%, resulting in more than half a million new jobs.
The Public Investment Program, from € 5.4 billion in 2019, now amounts to € 14.6 billion in 2025, and in 2026 is going to increase a further increase of € 16.9 billion, which will be 212% higher than we received from the previous government.
When Greece achieves the goals of the medium -term budgetary framework and can and can respect the limits of spending, as opposed to European pillars such as France, when it steadily reduces its public debt when it is at the forefront of the absorption of NSRF resources and the Fund,
We have a job ahead of us, with the aim of further reducing unemployment, especially young people and women. But if there is no strong economy, if there is no government that guarantees stability and has its DNA the strengthening of entrepreneurship, investment and reforms, using any available financial resource for the benefit of society and the economy, no new jobs can be secured, there can be no hope for the country.
The theory is not enough, actions are needed. The resources to reduce taxes and the support measures of society do not come down from a tree. It is the result of a coherent and effective strategy of a government that believes that it must support entrepreneurship daily, but always having society in mind.
This government is leading the country steadily ahead. It gives Greeks and Greeks confident that the next day, our children will find a job and businesses will be able to look forward to supporting a government that believes in them, Nikos Papathanassis has emphasized.
