This year’s season was the last in action for the 39 -year -old Portuguese, with Veyrinias deciding to drop his career titles and announce it in the most official way on Wednesday (7/5), through a shocking post on his Instagram account.

In his message he states: “How do you get a life in two minutes? So many emotions, moments, dreams, experiences that shape you.
How do you say goodbye to what you love? What makes you feel alive, even when you hurt?
How do you put logic over the heart?
If one knows these answers, I’m definitely not me. As strong as you want to say you are, there are times when you are bent. And this is one of them. The day I stop football. And while everything seems blurry and thoughts are shouting in my mind, one thing is a given.
I don’t change anything. I would do it again from the beginning with the same passion.
Thanks through my heart for your love. I will not forget anything.
