Continuing his upward trajectory with Giannis Anastasiou on his bench, o A pan-eater prevailed with her 3-0 AEL Novibet at home in the 10th game of the Super League championship, escaping from the last positions of the scoreboard.
The “canaries” had a big protagonist in the match, Alexandrou Matsan, who had an assist, while most of Panaitoliko’s phases passed through his feet, who after his good performance against AEK in the championship where they lost 1-0, managed to get an important three points. The hosts got into the game better and missed a great chance, with Nikos Melissa having a hard time keeping out Jorge Aguirre’s cross (17′).
In the corner that followed, Christos Sielis took the first header, with Enkololos failing to make contact. The latter, however, was the one who opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, hitting from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark.
On Konrad’s cross from Michalak, the ball found the outstretched hand of Thanasis Papageorgiou, with Dimitris Moschou accounting for the last of the penalties and the French midfielder hitting the target despite Melissa’s effort. The “crimson” tried to equalize immediately, but Amr Ward’s shot (37′) from a lateral position went over the crossbar of Lucas Chavez’s goal.
In the second half the Thessalonians were the ones who tried to move the ball around. Yani Atanasov’s foul (51′) blocked Chavez with a double attempt, but six minutes later, the “canaries” were the ones who came close to a (second) goal.
Aguirre made a nice move and turned to Enkololo who missed from a good position. And while Stelios Malezas made changes wanting to make his team more aggressive, it was 2-0. From a mistake by Atanasov just outside the Melissa area, Alexandrou Matsan passed to Mavria who with a cool, diagonal shot doubled Panaitolikos’ goals in the 67th minute.
The hosts continued to exploit the empty spaces. In 75′, Matsan made another vertical pass, this time to Aleksic, who had just entered the match. The Serb forward was “knocked down” by Petros Bagalianis inside the area, with Moschou scoring the new penalty and Aleksic hitting the target for 3-0.
The shots of Leandro Garate (86′), Zisi Hadjistravou (90’+2′) and Facundo Peres (90’+5′) were the last attempt for AEL Novibet to score the goal of honor – without any result – with Maleza’s team experiencing a second consecutive defeat and staying very low (11th with 7 points).
On the contrary, Panaitolikos climbed to 11 points – seven (2-1-1 with 8-4 goals) with Anastasiou on the bench – and 9th place.
