The Modern Greek Language and Literature Lesson (Exhibition) are currently examining thousands of GEL students in Nationwide exams for a place in higher education.
The subject of the exhibition concerned creativity, while candidates had to write an article explaining the reasons why the modern school had to cultivate the creativity of the pupils and the ways in which they choose their personal lives to express their creativity.

The time examination for foreign language lessons is three (3) hours of designs (free and linear) is six (6) hours, for the music lesson “Music Performance and Interpretation” the examination of vocal or organic music takes 4΄ to 6΄ minutes per candidate,
For the music lesson “Music Perception, Theory and Harmony”, the examination has a total of three (3) hours and 30 minutes.
How to examine and score the course Modern Greek Language and Literature
For the examination of the “Modern Greek Language and Literature” course, candidates are evaluated in a single three -hour examination in understanding and production.
The two or three texts are given to the candidates, which are not contained in the teaching books included in the course material, totaling up to three pages, one of which is literary, in integrated or fragmented form, Format: Journalistic articles, interviews, reviews, essays, scientific texts, caption posters, information texts with images, sketches, paintings or charts, etc.), different from each other in terms of textual species, so as to evaluate the reading capacity of candidates.
The texts can be accompanied by a short introductory note without interpretative comments. These texts are raised by four total issues through which the ability of the candidates to understand the content of the texts, to interpret and evaluate attitudes, values, ideas, and more. Based on text elements, as well as producing interpretive and critical reason. The issues are proposed to be classified as difficulty and restrictions on the extent of the answers (where necessary). The meaning of non -literary texts must be relevant to one or some of the themes identified in the Modern Greek Language Curriculum.
The texts are accompanied by the following themes:
The first issue relates to non -literary texts and concerns the summary performance by the candidates (s) of a text or the brief rendering of views expressed in a text on a matter. The first issue is scored by twenty (20) units.
The second theme relates to non -literary texts and is analyzed in three questions, different from each other, with some of them to be closed and with a possible justification of the answer. One of them can be divided into two sub -questions.
Questions are related to:
a) The utilization of the context of texts (social, historical, cultural, space and time) in order to understand the reasons and actions of the subjects (individual and collective) referring to the texts, and the relationships between them,
b) The identification and interpretative approach of the purpose, attitudes, basic positions and intentions of the author/editors of the texts, as well as the documentation of the basic idea of the text,
c) Evaluation of the relevance of ideas, arguments, titles, subtitles, images, etc. with a position, view, or issue that raises the text and of their evidence,
(d) The identification and correlation of specific text indicators that organize the text as a meaningful construction – that is, the candidates to identify in the text indicators (eg vocabulary, verbal persons, punctuation, expressive means, ways of writing, etc.)
(e) Recognition and interpretative approach to how to connect and organize ideas, proposals, paragraphs or various semantic ways in a text, after taking into account the communication framework and social context,
f) Comparison of non -literary texts in places, how the subject is realized, persuasion, effective transmission of meaning, etc.
The second issue is scored with 35 points, divided into each query according to their severity (15+10+10). The sub -questions are also rated according to their gravity.
The third theme relates to the literary text and concerns the production of interpretative commentary, which aims for candidates, on the one hand to develop critical issues/questions that the literary text deals with, utilizing combination of textual indicators or even relevant elements, on the other hand. The predicted extent of the answer can range from 100 to 200 words. The third issue is scored with 15 points.
The above issues need to be clear and careful to express questions in order to avoid overlays in the candidates’ answers.
The fourth theme relates to non -literary texts and concerns the written production of critical speech, 300 to 400 words (depending on the severity of the subject), which responds to a specific communication context (purpose, transmitter, recipients, textual) and calls for their/s), stereotypes, prejudices etc. that puts the text/setting the reference texts. The fourth issue is scored with 30 points.
