Pakistan: Car bomb explodes outside court in Islamabad – 12 dead and 27 injured

Twelve people were killed today (Tuesday 11.11.2025) in a suicide attack outside a court in the capital Pakistan Islamabad, as announced by the Minister of Interior.

“Suicide attack took place in Cairo” where the court is located, Minister Mohsin Naqvi told reporters at the scene, referring to 12 dead and 27 injured from the bomb blast in Pakistan.

Initial AP reports said a car bomb exploded outside a courthouse in Islamabad, killing at least 5 people, according to Pakistani state media. At least 13 are injured.

“We are investigating what kind of explosion this was. It’s not clear yet. We will be able to give more details after we have received the report from our forensic team,” said the Police spokesman after the blast in Pakistan.

The explosion occurred near the entrance of the Islamabad district court, where many litigants are usually present.

State media reported that the blast, which was heard for miles, damaged several vehicles parked outside the court, which is usually packed with hundreds of visitors watching hearings.

Two security officials confirmed to The Associated Press that the explosion was caused by car bomb. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak officially to the media.

No organization immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
