Over 4 hours Putin meeting with Trump’s envoy – what was discussed for Ukraine

More than four hours lasted the meeting between Vladimir Putin with his envoy Donald TrumpSteve Whitkov in St. Petersburg.

Talks between Donald Trump’s envoy and Russian President Vladimir Putin mainly concerned Ukraine, and according to news agencies Ria Novosti and Tass lasted four hours and thirty minutes.

The Izvestia newspaper correspondent wrote to the Telegram that the respective delegations left the presidential library where the meeting took place.

“The leader of the Russian state talked to the US President of the United States, Steve Whitkov,” the Kremlin said in a short press release.

“The meeting was about the aspects of settlement in Ukraine,” he said.

Russian Presidency spokesman Dmitry Peskov had previously stated that he did not expect much diplomatic progress at the end of this meeting, Tuesday between Vladimir Putin and Steve Whitkov since February.

Donald Trump’s government, which wants to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine quickly, has been organizing separate talks with high -ranking Russian and Ukrainian officials for weeks. These conversations have not, at present, come to a total cessation of hostilities.

Earlier, Whitkov met in St. Petersburg his Putin adviser to investment in Kiril Dmitryev, who had moved to Washington in early April for the first visit of a high -ranking Russian official to the US after the launch of Russia.
