His resignation by secretary of Heraklion Prefecture PASOK Lambros Antonopoulos submitted for the involvement of his name in OPECEPE.
Mr Antonopoulos, in a letter to Andreas Spyropoulos, informed his decision to resign from the position of responsibility after his name was involved in the OPEKEPE scandal.
Mr. Antonopoulos, a PASOK executive in Crete, also calls for the suspension of his party status. He even returned the subsidy he received from OPEKEPE for “exclusively for reasons of drunkenness” as he says.
In detail the letter:
‘Comrade Secretary,
With my present, I submit my resignation from the post of secretary of the NE. Heraklion Committee of PASOK-KINAL and, in addition, I request the temporary suspension of my party status.
It is obvious that the specific circles attempted by my name with the OPEKEPE scandal is aimed at hurting PASOK in the context of a desperate attempt at political “set -off” and will fall into the void.
Nevertheless, only the above references to my face make my resignation one -way.
Finally, I emphasize that I got money from OPEKEPE once, in the year 2020, with a process that I considered and still consider absolutely legal and to date I have not been accused by anyone and for anything. I also returned the money exclusively for the reasons of drunkenness.
With appreciation,
Lambros Antonopoulos ยป
