In heavy complaints highlighting new, invisible aspects of OPECEPE and challenge the credibility of the case file has been made by the experienced judge and former head of the agency Nikos Salatas by depositing to examination House committee investigating the illegal practices of paying agricultural subsidies.
The critical witness argued that the European Public Prosecutor’s Office She chose to work together and support her investigations by an OPECEPE manager who is burdened – as she said – with serious criminal offenses.
Note that the positions of the current head of the organization Giannis Kavvada and the former president Nikos salad They opened the circle of witness deposits in the Inquiry Committee. Work will continue today with the testimonies of former presidents Evangelou and Kyriakou Babasidis.
Complaints about European Public Prosecutor’s Office and former OPECEPE executives
Mr. Salatas named the Director of the Organization Paraskevi Tyherropoulou – which her colleagues, as she claimed, called “supreme” – and said that she was charged with at least 20 criminal offenses for the activities of the period 2022-2023. He added that although he informed in detail about the “dark” role of Mrs. Thanropoulou, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office chose to ignore his warnings and take her to her services as a special investigation partner.
He argued that Ms Thanropoulou directed the research so that the period 2022-2023 was not controlled in which she controlled two (control and payment) addresses in the Agency.
“I entered the organization and found lawsuits of the technical adviser against OPECEPE. I found lawsuits between employees and managers. Mrs Tyherropoulou was a lawyer who had chosen the European Public Prosecutor’s Office as a special scientist. Ms Kivelou, Prosecutor of Appeals, called me, who is a coordinator at the European Public Prosecutor’s Office and which I have known for a long time. I told her that the one you chose should be controlled and not controlled. He has disciplinary and a criminal offense, ”Mr Salatas initially said.
The former president of OPEKEPE added that shortly afterwards the European Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded that Mrs Thanropoulou be removed. “This meant that Ms Thanropoulou would have investigative duties. I look at the envelope and saw that he didn’t have the qualifications, ”he said.
Mr Salatas, as a historian, described that Mr Simandrakos in 2022 within ten days of taking up his duties that Mrs Tyherropoulou, who was the Head of the Department of Education, was capable of becoming a temporary manager of his most nervous committee. She argued that at some point Mrs Thanropoulou took over the two most neuralgic directions to OPEKEPE.
“I find that Ms Thanropoulou, always having the presumption of innocence, seems to have committed ten misdemeanors and six crimes. What I say proves out by documents. I send a second letter with another crime of a felony and I say the responsibilities of Mr. Paschalis. He cannot ignore the president of OPEKEPE when he says that OPECEPE official must be prosecuted for 17 offenses. And then I found other offenses, ”he added.
Mr Salatas argued that he was slandered by European Public Prosecutor’s announcements that obstruction of control. “It is inconceivable for an OPECEPE president to tell the prosecutors’ colleagues that a person has done 17 offenses and ignore me.” He argued that Mr Paschalis from the European Public Prosecutor’s Office was pushing Mr Tsiaras to illegally demanding the posting of Mrs Thanropoulou. “Things paranoid to me,” he said.
Referring to the period of 2022-2023, Mr. Salatas wondered: “Was there a scandal before, in 2022-2023 it became a thunder and came back after the scandal? Why was it a selective investigation process? At this time Pantokrator was Tyherropoulou. Do you understand what’s going on here? Unquestionable. For the 20 offenses that no one invites me to testify is as if I didn’t talk. How much can the European Public Prosecutor’s Office have impartiality in what it says? In 2022-2023 the organization collapsed. Things I couldn’t believe they were doing, ”he said.
In response to questions from SYRIZA MP Vassilis Kokkalis, Mr Salatas reiterated the heavy complaints against the European prosecutors of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, arguing that they have committed the offense of abuse of power. At the same time, he said that his dismissal was asked by the Deputy Minister under Prime Minister George Mylonakis to clarify that his deputy minister advised him to restore his relations with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.
B. Kokkalis: I have learned in law not to hurry. A survey may end different than it started. You said here things that shake and challenge the core of the case file Mr. Witness
N. Salad: There is OPEKEPE scandal but what comes out is just part of it. They left out what happened in the period 2022 – 2023 and are responsible for the European prosecutors who leave them out. If we do not identify with legality, OPECEPE will die
B. Kokkalis: Why was this period left out
Salad: Because it is about the actions of Mrs. Thanropoulou who were taken to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office while they knew her actions. Not only protect her but have made her a researcher
B. Kokkalis: All European Prosecutors?
N. Salad: Not everyone. I am referring to Sofoulakis, Paschalis, Kivelou Siskos and Papandreou. They have dealt with the case and excluded the period 2022-23. This period was excluded from the investigation under the responsibility of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office
Red: Didn’t the ministers know?
Salad: I informed Tsiaras every day. I sent my written references, letters to Mrs Thanropoulou’s offenses. He sent my own letters to Mrs. Adelini. The Minister was struggling for OPECEPE’s salvation
Red : Did you say you were carried by Maximus?
Salad: That’s what I said
Red: Who caught you?
Salad: Mr. Mylonakis fired me. I talked to him and didn’t like my position. I told him that I could not accept the accusation that I have obtained the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. I do not accept such a category. And he tells me something about politics and that. I told him that politics I am not interested in I am a judge and president of an organization that I must protect. He didn’t like it and fired me
Red: Have you read the case file?
