OPECA: Up to 600 euros per year for families in mountainous and disadvantaged areas – steps for beneficiaries

Open is the electronic platform for submitting applications to the program income of reinforcement OPECAconcerning families who reside permanently in mountainous or disadvantaged areas of the country. The benefit reaches up to 600 euros a yeardepending on family income.

The OPECA income support program aims to support low -income households, living in areas with limited access to basic services and employment opportunities. The allowance is a special annual financial support, which is not taxed and is not offset by other debts.

Who are the beneficiaries

The allowance is granted to families or single parent households that meet the following basic criteria:

  • Reside permanently in mountainous or disadvantaged areas of the country for at least two years before request
  • The annual family income does not exceed 4,700 euros.
  • The permanent residence is determined through the tax return income, while the data is calculated automatically with the interoperability of the AADE systems. At the same time, dependent family members are taken into account.

Application

Applications for income reinforcement to mountainous and disadvantaged families is made exclusively electronically, through the special platform oreina.epidomata.gov.gr.

Access is made with the applicant’s taxisnet codes, while the application is fully automated intersecting permanent residences, family income and household composition. No visit to KEP or submission of supporting documents is required.

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday 30 October 2024. After that date, the platform will be closed and no extension will be given, so the beneficiaries are required to submit their statements in time.

Aid amounts per income criterion

The aid to be given are families who reside permanently in mountain or disadvantaged areas of the country:

  • 600 euros a year, if your annual family income does not exceed € 3,000
  • 300 euros a year, if your annual family income ranges between € 3,000.01 and € 4,700

The allowance is irrelevant, tax -free and is not counted in the total family income for other social benefits.
