Real Madrid entered the third period making a 5-0 series, with Olympiacos responding with a corresponding series. The visitors, however, managed to get a short head with a new series and reach +7 (45-52). With Wokapp giving the pace to defense, the Piraeus did not accept any easy baskets. He was, in fact, an assist in Vildosa for Argentina’s three-point three and 57-54 of the third quarter. In the attack, Fournier showed the most reliable, one of the hosts.
Olympiacos continued to go well in the defense, with Lee – in fact – making a stunning appearance. Again, Fournier was the one who gave confidence to the home side. Mario Hezonia was the only threat to the red-white basket, even making a significant series and reducing to 67-62. Wokapa went to the match to bring extra calm to the team, but he did 2 Air Ball. Kambatsu’s driver threw the difference in the three-point (67-64).
Olympiacos returned from Barzokas’ timeout and Peters achieved a huge three-pointer for 70-64 to follow a Williams-Gos “knife” from 6.75m (73-64). The match had now been judged, with the Piraeus finally dominating 77-71.
