The announcement
The government announces an agreement on the concession, management and exploitation of the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) to the Olympic Games for forty -nine (49) years. The agreement relates to the covered hall along with all covered accompanying areas, parking spaces and part of the surrounding area linking the above facilities, without any change in the terms of use provided by the current legislation. The Greek State will take care of the energy upgrading and maintenance of the building.
The Greek State Agreement with the Olympic Games, which will comply with the UN State Aid Law, does not include the conversion of the field from a field to a basketball court, which will exclusively burden the OEM Olympiakos.
In the model of the corresponding agreement with the Panathinaikos OEM:
– OEM Olympiakos will give the SEF thirty percent (30%) of net revenue resulting from the lease and the general commercial exploitation of the buildings, facilities and outdoor spaces.
– OEM Olympiakos is committed to making a few mandatory investment.
– The concession does not occupy the SEF of World, European Games or Championships and National Teams, as well as five (5) cultural events per year.
– OEM Olympiakos is obliged to regularly and emergency maintenance of the buildings, facilities and outdoor spaces, as well as the restoration of all their damage and damage.
– OEM Olympiakos has exclusive civil and criminal responsibility from culprits and omissions derived from its bodies during the use, management and exploitation of the concessed buildings, facilities and outdoor spaces.
– In any way, the working status and wage status of all kinds of regular and extraordinary personnel of the chef are not affected.
It is a historical agreement that is expected to contribute to the further development of Greek basketball, as it comes to the concession of the OAKA Stadium to the Panathinaikos OEM in 2022.
In this way, the two top Greek basketball sports clubs, which are clearly treated equivalently by the Greek state, will be able to raise our country even higher.
This is a fair and sustainable outcome to achieve the following parameters:
• The age and general situation of the SEF stadium against the OAKA Stadium,
• The technological differences of their infrastructure,
• The difference in the entry into force of the concession,
• The difference in their athletic orientation, as the SEF is designed as a closed track and a field of OAKA which is a basketball court from the outset and requires significant investments by the OEM Olympiakos to convert it into a basketball court,
• The difference of their capacity, as the SEF is a 12,000 -seat stadium against 18,000 seats that are OAKA,
• The views of the Municipality of Piraeus and the administration of the legal person of the chef.
It is noted that this agreement does not affect the other facilities belonging to the legal person of the SEF already granted for other uses, including the Amateur Olympic swimming pools, and has been taken care of by the Ministry of Education, Religions and Sports for Sports.
