October 28 Parades: How MMM will move – Where will there be traffic disruptions, what applies per municipality

Changes are expected tomorrow, Tuesday, October 28, both in the traffic of vehicles and in their operation Mass Transportation (MMM) due to the parades and celebrations for the national anniversary.

Specifically, MMM in Attica will operate with a Sunday timetable and holidays, while there will be modifications to some bus lines, as announced by OASA.

At the same time, due to the parades and events in various municipalities, there will be temporary traffic interruptions and vehicle diversions in the main streets of the capital and regional municipalities, with the aim of facilitating the events and the safety of citizens.

Tuesday, October 28: MMM route changes due to the parades – What will apply per municipality

In the center of Athens, Tram routes to Syntagma will terminate at the Fix stop from 10:00 until the end of the parade, according to OASA. Information is awaited from STASY on whether the Syntagma Metro station will be closed during the parade.

As for the bus lines, from 10:00 until the end of the parade, the traffic of the 060 line will be suspended, while the routes of the X95 line will run to the Katehaki Metro station. Suspension of Tram routes is expected to be announced for the center of Piraeus as well.

What will apply per Municipality for MMMs

According to the OASA, the following bus route changes will apply in various municipalities:

Ilioupoli: Line 237 between 7:00-13:45 -N. Heraklion: Line 642 between 8:00-14:00
Transformation: Line B9 between 8:00-14:30
Ilion: Lines 701, 703, 719, 747, 892, A11, B11 and trolley 25 between 9:00-13:00
Keratsini-Drapetsona: Line 859 between 9:00-13:00 -Korydallos: Lines 809, 810, 830, 831, 842, 806 from 9:00 to 14:00
Saint Barbara: Lines 830, 837 and 892 between 9:00-14:00
Penteli-Melissia: Route delays 410, 450, 451, 530, 460, 461 between 9:30-13:00
Philothei-Psychic: Lines 036, 140 and 402 between 10:00-13:00
Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni: Lines 116, 117, 122 and X96 between 10:00-13:00
Acharnes: Lines 537, 721, 734, 740, 755, 755B, A10 and B10, from 10:00 to 14:00

Perama: Lines 841, 842, 843, 819, 818 between 10:00-14:00
Spata-Artemida: Lines 319, 326, 304 and 305 from 10:00 until the end of the events
Nea Ionia: Lines A8, 602 and 724, from 10:00 until the end of the events
Agios Stefanos: Lines 509, 509B, 535 between 10:30-13:30
Pine: Interruption of lines 501, 527 between 12:00-13:30
Egaleo: Lines 750, 801, 807, 813, 829, 836, 852, 856, 865, 866, 876 during events

At the same time, the Traffic will proceed with traffic regulations due to the holding of the parades in Athens and Piraeus.

In addition, traffic regulations will be implemented in all the Municipalities of the Prefecture of Attica with a gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic, depending on the prevailing traffic conditions and until the end of the events.

Traffic arrangements in the center of Athens

In the Municipality of Athens, from 09:00 in the morning and until the end of the parade, vehicle traffic will be stopped as follows:

Vas. Amalias Ave., along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.

El. Venizelou (University), along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.

Vas. Sofias Ave., in the section between Vas Kon/nou Avenue and El. Venizelos (University) in both traffic streams, as well as in the perpendicular ones up to the first parallel street.

Syngrou Ave., in the section between Ath. Diakos and Dionysios Areopagitou streets.

Ath. Diakou, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.

At the same time, from 6:00 in the morning and until the end of the doxology at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, vehicle traffic will be stopped on Mitropoleos Street, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.

Traffic regulations in Piraeus

To Municipality of Piraeus traffic regulations will be applied from 09:00 in the morning until 14:00 in the afternoon on the following roads:

34th Infantry Regiment, in the section between Omiridou Skylitsis and El. Venizelou.
Heroes Polytechnic, in the section between El. Venizelos and 2nd Division.
Vas. Georgiou, in the section between Ethn streets. Antistaseos and Gr. Lambrakis.

The Greek police appeals to the drivers of the vehicles to avoid additional traffic problems to avoid driving on the above roads and to follow the instructions of the traffic controllers.

How will the Metro and Tram move?

We would like to inform you that by order of the Hellenic Republic of Greece on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the fixed orbit MMMs:

– His station Syntagma Metro it will close at 8 am and trains will pass through it without stopping.

– Tram Line 6 “Pycrodaphne – Constitution” will have a temporary terminal at the “FIX” stop from 8 am.
