OR guitar by Noel Gallagher, which his brother, Liam, broke on the night the band broke up Oasisin 2009, sold at auction in London for £289,800 (€332,280), auction house Propstore announced on Friday (24.10.2025).
O Liam Gallagher broke the crimson guitar Gibson inside their dressing room Oasisat the Rock en Seine festival, near Paris. After this fight, Oasis broke up and it took 15 years for the brothers to reunite on stage for a hugely successful tour.
Although the initial estimate was £500,000, the guitar eventually sold for much less. After being restored in 2011, the guitar was sold again at auction in 2022 in Paris for €385,000.
In the same auction, his handwritten lyrics Noel Gallagherincluding the Wonderwall piece, sold for £75,600. His sunglasses were also sold at the same price Elvis Presleywhile the famous white hat worn by Michael Jackson in his 1988 ‘Smooth Criminal’ music video sold for £50,400.
Various memorabilia of his David Bowieof Jimi Hendrix and other music legends will also be auctioned off.
