In agreement to give US government 15% of their revenue from sales chip Nvidia and AMD ended in China, according to a Financial Times report.
The two “giants” chips made this unprecedented agreement with the White House as a prerequisite for obtaining licenses for their products to the Chinese market, which were granted last week, according to sources cited by the FTs, including an American official.
The US official said Nvidia has agreed to share 15% of revenue from H20 chip sales in China and AMD will provide the same percentage of the MI308 chip revenue. Two sources that have information on the agreement said that the Donald Trump government has not yet decided how to use the money.
It is noted that Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, met with Trump last week, according to the FT.
In a statement to the newspaper, Nvidia said: “We are following the rules set by the US government to participate in the world markets.”
Last week, Trump had stated that he would implement 100% duties to semiconductor and chip imports, unless a company “manufactures in the US”.
