NSS- My Health App, Finddoors and 1566: The new triptych for public hospitals appointments

The Health ministry announced the full operation of the new system of planning medical appointments in public hospitals, a reform that radically changes the daily routine of millions of citizens and brings it National health system (NSS) in the new digital age.

As of October 1, citizens now have three alternative ways to make a free appointment with a doctor of their choice in NHS hospitals:

  1. through four -digit telephone number 1566,
  2. by the application My Health App,
  3. or through the electronic platform finddoctors.gov.gr.

Until recently, citizens could only make an appointment with doctors affiliated with EOPYY or Health Centers. The new opportunity extends the right to access all public hospitals, enhancing transparency, accessibility and quality of health care.

Participation Record: Over 200,000 appointments in five days

Within a short period of time, the public’s response was impressive. From October 1st to the present, more than 200,000 new appointments with his doctors have been scheduled YOU – of which 133,000 through the application and the platform and 67,000 through telephone number 1566.

Citizens can now make an appointment up to four months earlier, choosing from 12,600 doctors of 40 different specialties serving in the country’s 127 public hospitals.

Geographical coverage is complete: by Evros to Crete and from the Aegean islands to Epirusevery citizen has the ability to access a doctor without complex procedures and delays.

Specifically, there are more than 1,200 physicians, 890 cardiologists, 880 pediatricians, as well as hundreds of doctors of other specialties, who serve the public through the new system daily.

Innovation with “Callback” – ending long waiting

The Health ministry It also places particular emphasis on improving telephone service. The new “Callback” mechanism which has been put into operation, allows citizens not to wait for the waiting: they can leave their details and receive a return to call from the system when their turn comes.

This function ensures that every citizen is served timely, effectively and without suffering, while increased flow flow – already touched by unprecedented levels – proves the great acceptance of the public’s initiative.

What do first patient assessments show

At the same time, the results of the evaluation of patient experience in NHS hospitals were presented. The study, based on 15,000 questionnaires from 111 hospitals and 631 clinics, gives a clear picture of improvement in the operation of the system.

According to the details:

  1. 92% of patients were very pleased with medical equipment and staff.
  2. 84% evaluate the relationship of trust with the treating doctors with a “excellent” relationship.
  3. 80% indicate a corresponding trust in nursing staff.

Written and oral instructions are also highly rated, showing improvement in communication and quality of care.

This evaluation, as the Ministry of Health points out, is not just a statistical tool, but a policy compass for the continuous improvement of services.

Measurable results, tangible changes

The government stresses that these figures are the best response to those who question the progress of the NHS. Against – as it is typically mentioned – “in the sterile opposition that invests in catastrophe and fake news”, the data proves that the health system is modernized, operates with transparency and delivers tangible results.

Health remains a top government priority, with the aim of improving the daily life of the citizen, to enhance the confidence in the public system and the equitable access of everyone to care services.

According to competent sources, “the numbers of appointments and the positive evaluations of the patients themselves prove in practice that the reform operates, the commitments are implemented and the NHS changes the page.”
