Nikos Anastasiou General Manager New International Airport of Heraklion Crete

Nikos Anastasiou was taken over by the position of General Manager of the Company of the New International Airport of Heraklion Crete (DAIC) since Monday, September 8th.

Mr Anastasiou has extensive experience in the management and operation of air infrastructure, including the first airport concession project in Russia (Pulkovo, St. Petersburg).

From his new position he will be responsible for the management of the company, in view of the completion of the construction project and the launch of the new Heraklion International Airport, Crete.

The new airport, a state -of -the -art infrastructure with the ability to serve over 15 million passengers a year, is expected to play a decisive role in boosting Crete’s tourism, economy and connectivity.

It is recalled that the company DAIC has been set up for the construction and management of the new International Airport in Kasteli, Crete. This is the Greek State (45.90%), GEK TERNA SA (32.46%) and GMR Airports Ltd (21.64%).
