According to the minister, the new legislative initiative is moving on three main axes. First, it aims to simplify the processes governing the labor market, making the frame more functional. Secondly, it introduces a number of arrangements to substantially strengthen their employees and their rights. Thirdly, it emphasizes the strengthening of the Audit mechanism, reinforcing the audits of the Independent Labor Inspectorate.
Ms Kerameos stressed that this bill “comes from the labor market itself”, as the vast majority of its provisions are based on proposals that have been submitted by representatives of both employees and businesses. “The changes are for millions of workers and our goal is their own protection,” he concluded.
