The Board of Directors of the Pan -Hellenic Federation of Associations of Editors calls on colleagues and fellow journalists across the country to give back the “present” to the strike that has decided with all its journalistic associations, ESIEA, ESIEM, ESIE The strike, which is down by POSPERT, will start at 5am on Thursday and will be completed at 5am on Friday. With the central request for the signing of collective agreements, we are claiming an end to the hostage of individual employment contracts holding wages, 1250 euros, 10% increases based on the latest collective contracts, salaries for the weekends and weekends (25%) for Saturdays, A daily compensation of 350 euros for shipments to war -torn areas and 250 euros for areas affected by natural disasters.
In the palette of 11+1 fair claims in the industry that has remained for 17 years without collective employment contracts in the private sector, the position of institutional demands that need to be incorporated into collective agreements such as Ethics, the Anti-Slapps Agreement, SMEs and websites, as well as the removal of the restrictions on the signing of a single collective contract in public media in which the first two -year import salary is at 1250 euros.
It is time to put an end to the abusive status of project contracts in the State, re -establish the 13th and 14th pension and to implement effective measures to combat speculative accuracy in items and essentials as well as rents.
Removing the restrictions on unilateral arbitration, supporting the printed type to save jobs and the adoption of brake in over -concentration of the press with transparency for the ownership of the media are also key claims in the industry.
POESY calls on employer organizations to respond to the proposals of our associations. In a spirit of fertile and with a real disposition of dialogue to sit on the table of collective bargaining from which mutual beneficial decisions about the health of the industry and the increase in jobs can and should be made.
At this critical period during which the income of employees, as well as all the country’s employees, is increasingly depreciated and at the expense of high tax rates, the government and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security are called upon to take seriously the agencies of the journalist and the agony.
