Since last September the fatal helicopter, which dragged to death in New York her CEO Siemens Spain, Augustine Escobar, his wife, their three children and the pilot, seem to have mechanical problems with the Rotors.
It is recalled that the Bell206L-4 Longranger IV helicopter was operating tourist flights over New York before dissolving in the air and crashed on the Hudson River, killing Siemens CEO and his family.
According to data from the Federal Civil Aviation Authority, TThe helicopter was built in 2004 and had already recorded more than 12,728 flight hours when in September it had to be repaired for a problem in the transmission system and specifically to the rotors, according to the New York Post.
Two security instructions were recently issued by FAA for Bell 206L helicopters. Indeed, the Federal Service issued the first directive in December 2022 and requested the inspection and possible replacement of the blades of the main rotor of models due to “detachment”.
A second directive, issued in May 2023, required the test and possible replacement of the axes of the rotor tail in eight models, including the one involved in Thursday’s accident.

The research focuses on the helicopter, the detection of debris and the Big Apple company that makes guided tours. The aircraft’s rotors are still missing, the National Transport Security Council President Jennifer Homendi said on Friday. New York police divers are still looking for several pieces of helicopter.
The videos released are shocking as the helicopter appears to be dissolved and falling on the river without the rotors.
The helicopter took off from Manhattan’s DownTown Skyport, and Agustin Escober, his wife, Mercè CamprubĂ Montal, was on board, and their three young children, Augustin, 10 years old, Mercedes, 8 years old, and Victor, 4 years old.
