New Stop to Trump: Can’t deport 10 immigrant children to Guatemala

Federal judge issued order by blocking his US government Donald Trump to deport 10 unaccompanied children of immigrants to Guatemala.

According to case lawyers, the deportations of 10 children in Guatemala would have been a violation of US law by the Donald Trump government.

The court ruling was taken after an appeal filed in the early hours of the National Center for Law of Migration, a defense team in favor of immigrants, on behalf of children, aged 10-17 years.

Judge Sparkl L. Sucanan of the Washington Regional Court ordered the US government to freeze deportations for 14 days and called for an urgent hearing within the next few hours, saying that children were in the deportation process.

Donald Trump’s government reached an agreement with Guatemala that allows the return of unaccompanied children back to the country and planned to start deportations this weekend, one current and two former US officials told Reuters. Plans were first mentioned by CNN on Friday.

In a legal complaint lodged on Sunday, the National Center for Legal Migration and the Youth Center for the Rights of Migrant Children said that the deportations would be a “clear violation of the clear protections provided by Congress as vulnerable children”.
