New Secretary General Ministry of Education, Religions and Sports, undertakes Giannis Papadomarkakis, Following the decision of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as announced by the Ministry of Education.
The new Secretary -General was welcomed by the Minister of Education, Religions and Sports, Sofia Zacharakis, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Papaioannou, the Deputy Minister of State, responsible for his professional education and training.
Also, his political leadership thanked the outgoing Secretary General of the First, Secondary, Secondary and Special Education, Yiannis Katsaros for their excellent cooperation and the services he offered to the ministry.
Curriculum vitae
He was born in Ano Vianno Heraklion on 30/01/1963.
He is a Diploma Chemical Engineer at the Technical University of Palaeus, with an additional degree in Pedagogical Technical School (SELEETE of Athens) and with postgraduate studies in “Environmental Education” at the University of the Aegean.
He holds a second degree in HEI on “Mediterranean Studies” and International Relations, he has a doctoral degree on “Education Sciences and Creative Problem Resolution: Public Administration Stations on Crisis Management. Comparative Study “and has completed a postdoctoral dissertation on” Crisis Management and problem solving in the context of Sustainable Development Education “, titles acquired at the University of the Aegean.
He has taught in public and private education at secondary and higher education level and in bodies such as the ECHR. In particular, at the University of the Aegean, she has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level since 2015. He is the author of books, a wealth of scientific articles and pedagogical material approved by the IEP.
His professional service includes the position of Deputy Director of IEK, the NRC Director and the Head of Technical Education Educational Education.
He served as a School Unit Manager and as Director of Secondary Education Dodecanese from 2010 to 2023. He also served as a coordinator in ASPAITE (Rhodes Branch).
Since 2023 he has been Deputy Regional Director of South Aegean Education. He is aware of two foreign languages, English and Romanian and has been taught for six semesters the Arabic language (degree in Mediterranean Studies).
