Through restrictive terms, after a marathon apology before the 1st regular investigator, the 13 minors accused of participating in the far -right gang acting under her “Thessaloniki Nationalist Youth »or” Defend Salonica “.
They are teenagers aged 16 and 17, who are allegedly recruited by adult leadership members. The organization, according to the case file, has been rooted as early as 2019, and its most recent actions reach until March 2025.
In their apologies most minors denied each involvement in violent actionsstating that they had simply participated in the organization’s online groups, mainly in the application Telegram. A 17 -year -old claimed that he only attended a meeting with ideological content, rejecting any involvement in attacks.
The police investigation, however, reveals a different picture. According to Subdivision of Treatment of Racist and Extrenerational Violencethe members of the group had distributed roles, while its leaders, aged 24 to 28, allegedly coordinated actions, including the supply of materials for violent actions.
The minors were systematically recruited, with the aim of enhancing the organization and performing attacks with racist or political motives. The charges that are burdened by them include, where appropriate, trafficking in people through minors recruitment, criminal organization, exhortation of hatred and internet violence, involvement in robberies and attacks, as well as other criminal offenses.
It is noted that a total of 28 people have been arrested, including 15 adults, and the apologies procedure continues with the others leading to the investigator on Sunday. Although most defendants were released in terms of terms, the case strongly highlights the penetration of organized far -right extremism at a young age, raising new questions about preventing and tackling the phenomenon.
